The Curiosity rover team made an announcement that they have discovered evidence of past fresh waster in Gale Crater. Now This data is not new because it has been available months and they seem to be ignoring an aspect of the data that goes against habitability at least long-term habitability.

It seems that fresh water originally erupted from underground becoming acidic as a result of volcanic activity. The makes is a perfect fit to the Catastrophic Model of Martian geology.
